Large Handcrafted Wood Frame Mirrors
We take great pride at Mission Style Mirrors for our large handcrafted wood frame mirrors. Offering excellence from their beginnings at our company to your choice of placement. Hand picked board of quarter sawn oak is the primary wood chosen for our wood frame mirrors because of it's classic styling and durability however other top grade hardwood made be used at your choice. We will not use pine in our designs.
Our mission styling is reminiscent of Gustav Stickley's lines from the Arts and Crafts period and reflects its clean lines and lack of ornamentation making it easy on the eye in any home. The ornamentation is in the wood grain itself as well as the craftsmanship of our wood frame mirrors. We are very precise in measurement and construction to the point of obsession, which makes our large handcrafted wood frame mirrors treasures to be handed down generation to generation. Mortise and tenon joinery is glued and will last a lifetime.
Our large handcrafted wood frame mirrors are hand rubbed with wood conditioners prior to hand staining to allow uniform absorption of stain. Fine grit sanding polishes surfaces between coats of staining and various sealants provide extra protection for finishes. Accents of other woods, such as black walnut, are used to bring out the beauty of certain pieces. Classically styled iron hooks add function. Some handcrafted mirrors are styled to have a depth which allows shelf use for added treasures to be displayed. High quality mirrors, with and without beveling, have beautiful reflective quality equal to the woods and craftsmanship making all of our pieces outstanding. Each piece Mission Style Mirrors makes is signed and dated as master craftsman have done throughout time making them enjoyable for many years to come!
