Here is the latest wall, mantle mirror designed and built here at mission style mirrors. I have used quarter-sawn white oak throughout the entire frame. It is kind of a 3 dimensional frame using through tenons to join the horizontal pieces to the vertical pieces. This gives stunning personality to the mirror and also incredible strength to the glue joint. I have used a stain called "English Chestnut 231". After staining I spray on several coats of a satin polyurethane. Lightly sanding between coats. This, as you can see, really makes the grain pop out. The top makes a great shelf for knick knacks etc. The pegs are 1/2 inch in diameter and are made of "Black Walnut". I think the are a great accent! This is a large mirror that will add character to any room in your home. Imagine the wamth this will bring to your fireplace mantle!
